About RANDY SUN waterproof socks, what you need to know before you buy?

How do waterproof socks work?

Waterproof socks keep feet dry by preventing water from seeping through the fabric. They achieve this purpose by utilizing a waterproof and breathable membrane as middle layer of the socks.

This does not mean that the out shell of the socks will repel water or be dry, but you should expect that your feet stay warm and dry underneath these socks. 

Do the feet sweat with the socks ?

The two elements of the waterproof breathable membrane work together to keep the feet dry, with the waterproofing keeping water out and the breathable properties ensuring that the moisture created as you sweat is allowed to escape out of the sock. I’ve hiked in these socks for 13 miles through mud and rivers without any issues.

Are they comfortable?

Yes! Their decent thickness provides shock absorption and long-lasting comfort. Soft materials prevent blisters and uncomfortable chafing.

Which style should I choose?

Different activities will require different thickness and sock length, but our mid-calf socks in regular thickness is always the most popular style for most activities and almost all weather.

Recommended waterproof socks for for different climates:

  • Warm Weather - Thin, Ultra Thin. Its thickness is almost the same as your cotton socks.
  • All Weather- Regular Thickness. Usually all waterproof socks will be bulkier than your normal socks. You may need to wear them with loose shoes.
  • Cold Weather- Thick. Ideal to wear when it's close to 0 degree Celsius (32 degree Fahrenheit), or when you need to walk in a cool stream in the mountains in cold weather.
  • Extreme Cold Weather - Very Thick. They are normally suitable for use in temperatures between 0 degree Celsius and -10 degrees Celsius (14 to 32 degree Fahrenheit). In extreme temperatures colder than -10 degrees Celsius, the waterproof socks will still keep your feet warm, but the waterproof membrane in the middle layer will become brittle and lose its waterproof properties.

If you need customized waterproof socks that are effective in extreme cold, such as -40 degrees Celsius (-40 degree Fahrenheit), please contact us via sales@randysun.com. Please be aware that developing these socks requires a completely different specialty waterproof membrane, so there will be a higher MOQ.

Tips: When your feet are submerged in water, although your feet are dry, you may still feel the coolness of the cold water through your socks, especially when you are active in the mountains, at this time you can choose thicker waterproof socks, or, to be flexible you can add a pair of your usual thin socks underneath the waterproof socks to easily cope with the changing weather.

If I'm between two sizes, what size should I buy?

If you are in between sizes, we recommend to choose a larger size. You can check the size chart at each product page.

  • XS Size: US Men size 5-7 or US Women size 6-8. Euro 35-38.
  • S Size: US Men size 7.5-9.5 or US Women size 8.5-11. Euro 39-42.  
  • M Size: US Men size 10-12.5 or US Women size 11.5-13.5. Euro 43-46.  
  • L Size: US Men size 13-15 or US Women size 14-16. Euro 47-50.

How do you wash water proof socks?

How to Wash Waterproof Socks?

  • Hand wash or machine wash below 40℃.
  • Drip dry.
  • Do not bleach, iron or dry clean.


When You Use The Socks:

  1. Waterproof socks are waterproof from the toe to just below the cuff of the sock. Sock cuffs are not waterproof. But you can choose cuff seal belts here for extra protection.
  2. Always wear waterproof socks inside your footwear.
  3. Don't hang in direct sun for several weeks, or socks may lose their elasticity.

You will be sent an order confirmation email and tracking information to the email address you used when the order was placed. If you don’t receive it, please check in your junk/spam email folders.

Or, it could be that you used an email address when you created your account, but didn't choose it to receive all notifications email when you placed your order. Don't worry, send us an email and our customer service team will be happy to update you on the progress of your order. How to change or cancel my order?

Sorry, we can only try our best, because the order information will be sent to the warehouse very quickly. But before the package is picked up by the courier, we can help you to change the address information or cancel the order. Please notify us by email via service@randysun.com within 12 hours, the sooner the better. 😃

How to make a return?

Returns 

If you are unsatisfied for any reason, you may return your package within 30 days. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in their original packaging.

  1. Please take a photo of the socks and its original packing bag, send them to service@randysun.com. We will get back to you within 24 hours. 
  2. When you receive the return address and send it back, please inform us the TRACKING NUMBER. Please note that you will be responsible for paying for the return postage except for quality problems.
  3. Refund will be processed within 2 business days after we receive your package. We’ll issue the refund to your original method of payment. Usually you will receive it within 24 hours. 

Once your refund has been issued, we will send you an email to notify you. Your patience will be highly appreciated.

Exchanges (if applicable) 

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at service@randysun.com.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, please contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
